Naulo Restaurant- A restaurant with robot waiters

Naulo Restaurant a restaurant having robots as a waiter is one of its kind in the beautiful country of Nepal. Launched last year this restaurant is located in Capital Mall, Durbar Marg in the capital city of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu(Ktm). This restaurant is running with robots as waiters under the slogan "Where food meets technology". The Naulo Restaurant where "naulo" means new in Nepali. This restaurant operates with the help of five robots, where three of them are named Ginger and two are named Ferry. The robots are designed and manufactured by Paaila Technology- a Nepali company established by six young engineers specializing in robotics and artificial intelligence(AI). This is the first time in the Himalayan country that a restaurant has used "Made in Nepal" robots as servers. The restaurant is a brainchild of the Nepalese robotics and AI company Paaila Technology which has spent an amount of 15 million Nepalese rupees on research and development in the last few years to turn the dream into reality.

"Binay Raut who is the CEO of Paaila Technology and Naulo Restaurant said- Naulo is the first digitalized robotic restaurant not just in Nepal, but also in South Asia. We believe that our robot is one of the most advanced service robots in the world that are user-friendly and very easy to operate."

The restaurant has a menu embedded in the digital screens installed in the table. The orders are placed using these digital screen menus which are directly received by the kitchen which cuts the need of a human variable to note the orders and then give it to the kitchen. After the food is ready, the robot collects the dishes from the kitchen counter and moves towards a customer's table to serve them their delicious meal. 

Robot Ginger is powered with Swarm intelligence, natural language processing, speech recognition, and auto-dock ability. The robots can also crack jokes and answer basic IQ questions in both English and Nepali.
